relationships among members of my city with the hope of creating a community that connects
multiple socio-economic backgrounds in the ever-evolving urban setting known as Chicago.
I communicate using images of homes, neighborhoods, and the built environment, in order
to bring understanding of the emotional and aesthetic ties that people have to their surroundings.
As a wife, mother, painter and lifelong Chicago resident, I ask questions about my own gendered
and class-status relationships within my community to help tell the particular stories of my
experiences through art.
